Fabricator Rights

Every individual within a Diamond Age economy has available to them a Roogle of Global Personal Utility (GPU). This is what the Requirements for Sentience concept developed at the Choo Institute by Ushogbo Van der Westhaven proposes.

But it is only a Lifeswork - bound and constrained by the terms of a collectively agreed Constitution - that has Fabricator Rights to actually manipulate that GPU.

Fabricator rights

Fabricator rights are protocols (rules and guidelines, yes, but also suggestions and best-practise proposals) for molecular manipulation.

Fabricator rights operate on three levels.

• White Rights - grant Lifeswork access to any structure or process that can be created from any given (fraction or multiple of a) Roogle of GPU in accordance with the edicts, ethics and ethos of the White Manifest of the Human Constitution. Also sometimes called Magnificent, Home or Mother rights.
• Grey Rights - grant Lifeswork access to prohibited and dangerous structures and processes, that can also be created from any (fraction of or multiple of) Roogle of GPU as specified in the edicts, ethics and ethos of the Grey Manifest of the Human Constitution. Also called Goo privileges or Oord rights.
• Black Rights - grant access to all structures and processes on the Black List of the Human Constitution. Also referred to as Abomination rights.
